Chapter 94 A Cold War
- Jocelyn had to force herself to contain her anger as she headed back to Fairview Villa. Coincidentally, Sebastian arrived home later than usual that day. Marilyn’s words continued to ring in Jocelyn’s ears, and that was when Jocelyn realized that she was no different from the other narrow-minded girls she knew. I know what sort of person Sebastian is, yet I can’t seem to calm myself down. Marilyn’s right! No matter how disciplined and principled Sebastian might be, he’s still a man after all! Can he really control himself if all those evil witches tried to seduce and lure him into their traps? With that thought, Jocelyn pulled her phone out to dial Sebastian’s number. A shiver ran down her spine as the phone rang, and she immediately ended the call. “What are you doing, Jocelyn?! Are you checking up on him? Perhaps he’s just busy today,” she mumbled to herself.
- Yet, there seemed to be another voice in her head that argued against her own thoughts. You’re Sebastian’s fiancée! Don’t you deserve an explanation if he comes home late? Are you only going to face the truth when you find Sebastian lying drunk and aroused in the warm arms of another woman?! No! Jocelyn let out a loud wail in her heart as she pressed the ‘send’ button on a message that she had unconsciously drafted. ‘SOS, Sebastian! I don’t know how to do my homework!’ The two exclamation marks depicted the uneasiness she felt within her then.
- With her phone clenched tightly in her hand, Jocelyn lay on the couch in the living room as she stared at its black screen, waiting for it to light up with a text message. She felt as if she was sinking into the bottom of the ocean when she didn’t receive a reply at all. The sky turned dark outside, and she struggled to keep her eyes open as her head grew heavier. By now, she could barely hold onto her phone; sounds around her were fading, and the world was melting away before her eyes. Jocelyn eventually couldn’t ward off the sleepiness she felt, and she fell into a deep slumber on the couch.
