Chapter 242 Old Flames
- Sebastian froze for a moment. He was just about to slip the antidote into Jocelyn’s cup before he got her to drink it, but Geoffrey then showed up in the café out of nowhere. He walked up to Sebastian with a somber look on his face, and he then bent himself down to whisper a string of words in Sebastian’s ear.
- Upon hearing what Geoffrey had to say, Sebastian felt his expression darkening as he gave Geoffrey immediate orders. “Go wait for me outside. I’ll be there in a while.” He then turned back to Jocelyn after Geoffrey went out. “Something happened in the company, and I have to leave now.” Right before he left, he took a long glare at the glass of water that he had prepared. He had intended to get Jocelyn to finish it, but he was worried that it would sound too suspicious if he just told her to do it then. He therefore gave up on the idea as he told himself that he would have another chance to do it in the future. I just have to get her to drink the antidote before the poison takes effect in her body. With that thought, he parted his long legs and headed out of the café.
- Jocelyn shifted her gaze toward the glass of water after he left. Based on my knowledge of Sebastian, I’m sure he wouldn’t just stare at a glass of water for no reason. I’m sure there must be something vital about it. She then pulled the glass over to stare at it for a long while. In the spur of the moment, she placed her lips to the glass and finished drinking the whole thing. She blinked her eyes and tugged her lips into a bitter smile after she finished the drink. “It was just a glass of water, after all. There’s nothing special about it at all. What were you staring at, Sebastian? Why did you keep staring at it?” At this point, Jocelyn had already drunk the antidote. However, Sebastian didn’t know about this at all—he had even come up with a plan to meet Jocelyn again so that he could get her to drink the antidote.
