• John seemed dejected when he left. Just by looking at him, Jocelyn began blaming herself a little. She wondered if he reacted like that due to her being too pushy. Subconsciously, she found herself going after him to stop him by calling out to him. “Mr. Lowe, do you have something else that you would like to tell me?” She sounded exceptionally serious. Other than that, she couldn’t think of another reason. He would only feel down because he didn’t get to tell her everything that he wished to say.
• Startled by the fact that she called out to him, John turned around slightly to face her after a few seconds. There was a passionate look in his eyes as he asked for confirmation. “Miss McBride, does this mean you’re giving me a chance to speak my mind?”

Although she was initially unwilling to do so, she changed her mind upon noticing how melancholic John was when he left, and the expectant and overjoyed expression that took over him after she called out to him made her change her mind.
