He nursed a scotch, the amber liquid doing little to soothe the simmering frustration from the disastrous almost concerning attraction he has towards Gemma and how he's reacting toward her. He adjusted his tie, the silk a stark contrast to the turmoil churning within him. The image of Gemma smiling with another man, him grabbing her the way he did, like he owned her, burned behind his eyes.
- His gaze scanned the room, settling on a woman with auburn hair cascading over her shoulders. She was attractive, the kind of woman who wouldn't linger in his memory. That suited his purpose.
