Chapter 36 The Way Of Life

• Callan's POV
• The elders council meeting is held twice a month but an exception can be made if there's an emergency and in this situation, it seems so according to them. I wouldn't worry too much because they know they'll loose a limb if I don't find it reasonable. There are approximately forty elders in the council but only twenty seven is present today because others have lost their lives. They stand up when I entered the hallroom with a solemn face as usual. They remained standing until I am seated.
• "What's the emergency? Someone better be dying" I say in annoyance because this is the last place I want to be right now especially when Anne is half naked in my bed lonely without me.
