• Isla’s heart thumped against her chest so hard it seemed to be taking her breath away. For every shaky breath she took her eyes lingered on the door. The fear of Freya jumping out of the dark and reaching for her makes her fear for her life. She just couldn’t do it. Killing someone who has done nothing to anyone but just exists feels outrageous.
• All through the night Fiona was in labor, her painful yells kept ringing in Isla’s ears. She is a mother herself, why would she be the one to deprive another mother and child of being together? Freya had been her lifesaver some years back, but that doesn’t count as being a murderer on her behalf. Isla had to rethink her actions, especially with how much the Alpha King had done to give her son back to her.
