• A few minutes later, Alice made sure not to keep Damon waiting.
• Now, they were all inside the car. Alice sat in the passenger seat of Damon's car, holding her baby sister in her arms. It was a quiet ride, the only noise was that coming from the baby's soft coos.
• Damon drove without speaking, his eyes glancing at the road ahead. Alice tried not to think about him, instead, she focused on her baby sister. Now, the only thing she could think of is getting home as fast as possible. She wanted to get home, put her sister to bed, and forget about the terrible day she had at work.
