Chapter 13 Who Rejected You?

• Alice stumbled into her apartment, her head still buzzing from the pulsing beats of the nightclub. As she closed the door, she noticed that Emily was on a call, her voice hushed as she spoke into her phone. Alice waved to her friend from afar, not wanting to interrupt. Emily nodded in acknowledgement, but didn't move from her spot.
• Alice took the opportunity to slip into her room and found her sis sleeping already. She splashed some water on her face, hoping to wash away the remnants of the night, as if that wasn't enough, she rushed into the bathroom to have a good bath.
• After a few minutes, Alice made her way back to the living room. Alice tried to appear as casual as possible, hoping that Emily wouldn't notice anything strange. She walked over to the couch and sat down, pretending to read a book.
