Chapter 7 The Beginning
- Ascelin
- Ascelin was taken aback by this request. That was certainly within reason, but he didn’t want the repercussions of taking in that many omegas at once. He would be scorned by the other Alphas and the Lycans, “Fine I will do that but there isn’t much you omegas can do since you are worthless and cursed by the moon goddess” he said, his voice dripping with irritability.
- Then she only frowned, “I must be very useless since not only have I fixed your wounds I have also hunted food for you,” she said with a displeased voice.
- He quickly apologized for his rude comment, but the omega woman seemed to be having none of it, “Most omegas are well versed in medicine since they get hurt often… it would do you well so that you do not nearly die again” she huffed quietly while handing him some of the venison she had just finished cooking.
- He took the meat graciously and started eating it quietly. They sat in deafening silence for what felt like forever until Ascelin spoke, “Could I get your name Miss Omega?”
- The woman sat across from him and she did not speak, and she didn’t seem interested in continuing the conversation, “If I am to give you my name will you stop with the bothering?” she said while glaring slightly at him.
- Ascelin nodded his head yes, and the female omega looked down at the floor and then back at him, and she spoke with a soft but stern tone, “You may call me Aessent….”
- He smiled at her, “That is a nice name. It suits you. My name is Ascelin.”
- The female omega or Aessent simply shook her head and sighed. She finished off her food and watched Ascelin intensely until he had finished as well. It was awkward for the rest of the night even when he was able to fall asleep eventually, and when he woke up the next morning some food and water were packed to the side along with whatever belongings he had before. He noticed that all of his clothes were there… including his undergarments and that he was naked the entire time he was speaking to Aessent, and he was only covered by the blanket that was on him.
- He shouldn’t have been embarrassed but the fact that she even was able to look and see how large he was… was almost humiliating since she shouldn’t have had to see that while bandaging him up. He groaned in embarrassment.
- Ascelin quickly shuffled over to his clothes and quickly put them on. His shirt was ripped horribly which wasn’t worth saving so he just tucked it into the bag Aessent had given him. His red shorts and underwear were fine thankfully.
- Once he saw Aessent coming up the ledge of the cave he covered his face slightly with his hand to cover up the embarrassment he was feeling, but Aessent didn’t seem to care and simply told him to be on his way as his wounds were healed enough.
- He was slightly hurt that she didn’t want to talk for a bit before he left, but if it was what she wanted he would do it.
- He made his way down the ledge up to the cave and started on his way back to the palace, but before he got too far away, he looked behind to see if Aessent was watching him leave but she was nowhere to be found in his line of sight.
- He begrudgingly made his way through the forest over the next few days and eventually came upon one of the guard posts, they contacted his beta Castor that he was safe and not dead.
- After waiting for quite a few hours for Castor to arrive, he finally did but with a doctor in toe behind him. He let the doctor look him over so that he wouldn’t have to deal with Castors blabbering about him needing to be healthy and safe. The doctor who had checked over him was incredibly surprised to find that his wounds were healed and that it shouldn’t be possible even with him being half Lycan.
- He simply scoffed and thought that it was bullshit that the doctor thought that, but he knew deep down that it probably had to do with what Aessent did to him while he was asleep. What also intrigued him was the quietness of Vega. Normally he was very chatty and would voice his opinions a lot. He shrugged it off as it was a good break from constantly having to tell him to shut up.
- Castor on the other hand was blabbering question upon, upon question on how he was alive, who saved him or what, and how he got lost. He managed to answer them all after a long sit on one of the couches in the guard post. After a while, they got to the question of who had saved Ascelin.
- “Ascelin who in their right mind saved you?” Castor said seriously with a hint of concern for Ascelin.
- He ran his fingers through his short curly red hair to destress himself, and finally, he spoke, “It was a female omega with white fur….” He sighed, as he let the silence consume the room and Castor's shocked face did not surprise him.
- “She found me near her home and somehow managed to save me despite the fact I was on the verge of death, and on top of that she made me feel very secure. I don’t know how to describe it but, it was very comforting…” he paused and took in a deep breath, “She was most definitely the most beautiful she-wolf I’ve ever seen in my life too.” Just the thought of her made him almost feel like he was back to being an angsty teenager again.
- His beta simply looked at him with an expression filled with both shock and an emotion he did not know to describe. his beta seemed to quickly snap out of it though and looked like he was about to blab more questions.
- “And what does Vega think of this she-wolf? And what is her name?” Castor asked quietly, and before Ascelin could answer Vega decided to pop in and answer that for him.
- “She’s most definitely our mate! and her name is Aessent” Vega said excitedly through the mind link that he and Castor shared.
- Castor stood up suddenly and yelled, “What?!, You disappear for a week and only to come back saying you found your mate?” He seemed shocked more than anything.
