Chapter 23 The Midpoint

- The sun beamed in her eyes as the winter sun streamed into the cave, and she sat up yawning and stretching her arms. She hated the frigid winter months, but it sure was easier to hunt since her fur matched the snow. The only downside was that there were fewer animals out in the winter snow. She sighed thinking back to that night with Ascelin a month ago.
- It was a very romantic courting date, and she had hoped to do another one soon, but she had yet to see him since he escorted her back home with the three men who had been guarding her at that time for about two months and now it was hitting the three-month mark. She couldn’t believe that they had managed to stay out of her sight for so long, but it was probably the benefit of not having white fur.
