Chapter 44

• Lilian had gone back to her room and she was lying quietly on her bed. She needed to rest as she was terribly sore. She closed her eyes and decided to sleep off. She had had more than enough for one day. She just wanted to be alone in her room away from everyone. She wanted no one, not even Damian to stress her out. As she closed her eyes, she had the weirdest dream of Damian apologizing to Bet for everything. She wanted to scoff in her sleep but she couldn't. There was no way in the world or any other word that Damian would ever feel remorse. He was simply just cruel. Her sleep was plagued by one impossible dream after another. She dreamt that Damian was going to love her, and bought her a new car, a new house, etc.
• Immediately she woke up when she had a dream about kissing Damian and getting married to him. The very thought of it made no sense. She couldn't imagine spending her life with someone like him. If anything, she'd rather be sentenced to life imprisonment. She looked around her and all was quiet. It was quite dark outside but the bulb kept her room bright. She looked at her wall clock, it was past seven. She rubbed her eyes and stared at the ceiling. A few hours ago, she was chilling with her feet in the cool water but now she was in bed, hiding from a monster. She sat up and leaned on the head of the bed. She could still feel the sharp needle-like jabs between her thighs and she groaned as she propped herself up.
• Without warning, the door flung open. It was Damian. Lilian looked nervously away. She tried to calm herself but she went into a panic attack. They were both in her room, alone. Who knew what he would do to her this time? She tried her best to calm herself but her heartbeat was out of control and so was her breathing. She soon began to feel dizzy and faint. Damian on the other hand, had a different reason for coming into her room. He had taken a peek at her earlier but she was still asleep.
