Chapter 84
- "I wish we'd never left the island." I look out the rental car window at the expansive skyscrapers of Miami. Going from the tranquillity of the tropical Turks and Caicos to the centre of a chaotic, traffic-clogged metropolis is a case of cultural shock.
- Miki grabs my hand across the seat and puts his lips to my fingers. "We're going back. I swear. Invest more time than 48 hours. We are here for however long you wish. Hell, if you want a villa, we can buy one."
- I nod, a void visible in the depths of my being. Miki's phone has continued ringing since we stepped off the private plane two hours ago. In the hour-long drive to his condo in the worst traffic I've seen in years, he's spoken to at least five people in Spanish and English.
