Chapter 50

• When I open my eyes, Victoria awaits me in the doorway. She approaches me and softly repeats my name. I extend my arms and push back my chair.
• She perches on my knee as I pull her in close, her body tired and warm. My hand skims her thigh and up, and I realize she's not wearing panties because she's only wearing one of my T-shirts. However, I believe she wasn't interested in having sex, and I'm too tired.
• The screen saver kicks on the one open laptop, and we find ourselves in complete darkness. I run my fingers through her hair.
