Chapter 26

• With a sigh, I tuck my legs as gently as possible beneath me and drop to my knees on the oversized cushion. My skin feels tingling and warm. There's a startling amount of heat coming from the gas fire behind me.
• After what seems like an eternity, Miki reappears carrying an enormous dish and an open bottle of wine. He places both of them on the table and kneels on the pillow beside me.
• "Only one wine glass? Only one plate?" I inquire.
