Chapter 13 They Want Blood

  • I spent the whole day there. The warriors trained day and night, they had shifts for training. The first batch got in the morning to take a break at lunch then back at it till the sunset with the other batch clogging in until sunrise. I found myself closing my book to watch them and it was truly a sight to see. My body itched to try all they were doing but I had to hold myself back for who knew how they would react. I was just counting down the hours, so excited to get to my room and do all I had observed. My photographic memory made it so clear for me when I recalled how something was done.
  • The smile on my face was bright, seeing as if something was finally happening for me. I understood why most of the men were like beasts. Their training was demanding, it was as if they were training animals. My eyes went even wider as I watched with time passing. Some ran away and I heard they were running to climb the mountain. In my head, I was recalling that long mountain that nearly killed me. I shook my head, so shocked yet so impressed. They kicked and punched. Their fighting style was different than in my old pack. Actually, what they were doing in my old pack was nothing compared to what I was seeing. Old men cried, cried tears from training so hard. I could see their skins stretched, muscles as if to explode.
  • The men fought to kill and not to just fight. Their pair-on-pair fights were brutal, leaving their competitors barely breathing in such a way that the pack doctor would run and treat them for some of the men got greatly injured it was beyond measure.
