• Shouting Sterling's name, Kamara fled in desperation, but he was nowhere to be found. She was too weak to lose him once more. She rushed mindlessly into the forest, and the farther she ran, the more the trees engulfed her surroundings, making the entire area gloomy and enormous.
• Kamara halted, glancing around before yelling. She put her palms over her face, closed her eyes, and watched as scared birds flew through the sky.
