• We arrived in San Diego fifteen minutes ahead of our scheduled landing time. The thirteen of us on this flight all yawned as we pulled into the arrival gate. I looked at my colleagues and they, like me, looked exhausted. I undid my seat belt, wrapped up the extension piece I had asked for and stood up to get my overhead luggage. I was relieved to get my size 18 body out of that tiny seat, my legs felt like stone from the five-hour flight. I grabbed my carry-on and my purse before heading to the exit. I walked off the plane, the sun setting over San Diego as I walked towards the baggage claim area.
