Chapter 19 Father And Daughter
- The next morning, after getting out of bed, Enrique quickly got ready and had breakfast. He dressed in a respectable and tidy outfit and went to the hospital to visit the young girl.
- Enrique had made a promise to Winona, and he felt a responsibility towards Annie. Since the child had called him "Daddy," he felt compelled to do something for her, especially considering her strong affection towards him.
- When he arrived at the hospital, Winona was not there as she had gone to work. However, Annie was overjoyed to see Enrique, and her complexion looked much better. Through a conversation with the nanny, Enrique learned that Annie's illness was recurring and could only be managed, not cured. Whenever she had a fever or a relapse over the past year or two, she would be admitted to the hospital for treatment, stay for a few days, and then be discharged. In theory, she should have stayed in the hospital continuously, but Winona didn't want her daughter to spend her entire life there. Since there was no hope for a cure, there was no need for her to stay in the hospital all the time. Winona preferred to take Annie home and do her best to keep her happy.
