Chapter 46 Tricking Nathan

• POV: Hayley
• There she sat, on my couch, telling me she wanted a piece of my man, my Nathan. She must be delusional to think I would fall for this trick a second time. The last time I was tricked this way had been three years ago. Nathan had called me and asked me to meet him at our favorite restaurant for lunch. As usual, I was so excited to meet him because we were truly in love with each other. I knew he was going through a rough patch because his company was on the brink of declaring bankruptcy and folding up. I wanted to be the one to help him, I wanted to be the one to take away his pain and heartache.
• I asked my father if he could loan him the money he needed to settle their debts and revive the company, but dad adamantly refused. Their company’s progress is the reason why our company is still struggling to be popular in this city. Most of our clients dumped us for them and every contract our company is bidding for ends up falling into their hands. This is the reason why my father never supported my relationship with Nate, and when their company ran into debt, Dad simply laughed at their misfortune. He hoped and prayed that they should declare bankruptcy so he could come in and buy them off. Helping them was never an option for him, and that is why he accepted the offer from Laura’s father.
