Chapter 22 Making Me Feel Better

• He took me to Cameron’s guest room, taking me in his arms like a baby. I laid on the bed with him lying beside me, holding me so closely, his breadth fanning the tendrils of the hair curled around my neck, sending shivers all over my body. He was so angry and mean to me, and that is why I got so emotional. I know he doesn’t know about the issues I had with my dad before I got married to him. He has no idea about my desire to be recognized in my family. He doesn’t know why I chose to be rebellious all the time to annoy my father. As I lay in his arms, I realize that I shouldn’t have been so pissed with him because I didn’t give him a chance to know me better.
• "Am sorry,” I whispered softly, apologizing for calling him a fraud earlier. I know he's not yet asleep because his one arm around my waist was moving up slowly to my boobs. He sighed and loosened his grip on my waist, turning me so I could look into his eyes.
