Chapter 40 Xxxix - Sophie

• We were heading back home and I couldn't wait to snuggle up in our bed, curl up with Patrick without worrying that someone might show up and especially eat Holly's food. The whole day at the hospital made me long for being home more than ever.
• Patrick was now dealing with all the consequences of that night - lawyers, interviews with journalists, meetings with the company board, a drop in the company's stocks - it was going from bad to worse. It made me wish I had cut off my cousin's hand at that moment. If only I had done that, it would have been a family fight. But the moment Patrick attacked my cousin in front of everyone and my uncle shouted that he had bought me, it turned into a complete circus for the media to make whatever show they wanted.
• The only good part of that night had been hearing the heartbeat of our babies. It was the most exciting and beautiful thing I had ever heard in my life. And knowing that they were growing well inside me made me even happier.
