Chapter 73
- “No!” I screamed as my eyes fluttered open frantically. My entire body was moist with sweat, my heart skipping beats, I was scared it was going to lead to a heart attack. Realising that it was just a horrible nightmare, I let out a sigh of relief, taking deep breaths in to calm down my racing heart.
- Slowly, the adrenaline spike got pumped out of my blood veins and eventually my heart rate came down to a normal pace. It was then that I became aware of my surroundings.
- It felt like decades had passed when the memories of my kidnapping; the train station, those men, the security guard, all started replaying in my head like an old chaotic film. ‘Ahh!’ I shot up quickly, from the ground, horror clouding my eyes when I took in the dark and rustic room. The air was musty, and dust filled. It was very dim lit too with the only source of light coming from the tiny window located at the corner of the wall, with grills covering it reminding me of the jail that I was in. My hands and feet were also tied, making it harder to stay upright. As expected, I lost balance and fell back to the ground.
