• Derek's Pov:
• I found it strange for Damon not to have called to ask about his wife. He wasn't even banging on my door asking me to give him Elena. It was strange because I didn't know what to believe. Was he being real right now? Abandoning his wife without investigating the issue? Did he believe all the rumours? Was that it? I sighed as I walked into the room again. I had no problems with that though, as long as I could have her all to myself, I didn't mind. Fortunately, she was slowly recovering and was a lot better than when they had brought her to me. It's been two weeks now and honestly, I've loved her enthusiasm and smile. She didn't seem broken like she used to. Or was it because her father was dead? Did she remember that?
• She seemed to be having fun with her bedspread, just making circles with her fingers around it. She raised her gaze and her eyes met mine. It was about time I went to the store and got her clothes. As much as I loved her wearing my outfit, she still needed to have her dresses.
