• I walked down the narrow corridors of the castle, my steps echoing off the cold, metallic walls. Jace trailed behind me, his jaw clenched in a silent storm of anger. The sick bay appeared ahead, a place of treatment filled with the scent of medicine, antiseptic, and several wolf portions also.
• As we approached Lucia’s room, I couldn’t shake the tension in the air. We had an agreement with her, one that balanced on the edge of a knife.
