• My heart raced as I gazed out of the small window, my eyes fixated on the moon. I had never felt so alone, I thought, clutching Aiden to my chest. Hunter had been gone far too long, and Jace had gone after him. We’d come to this remote town to hide from Lucia, and I praying to the moon goodness for their safe return.
• Suddenly, a faint rustling of leaves and the distant sounds of commotion in the night made my heart quicken. The town was under attack, and fear gripped me. I whispered a prayer to the moon for Jace and Hunter to come back to us fast. They were our only hope against Lucia.
