• I entered Hunter’s bedroom, a sense of unease gnawing at me. Hunter was inside the room, his gaze fixed on the floor, lost in thought. His normally stern expression had softened considerably since that confrontation with Amelia earlier. She had slapped him, and I had watched in shock as she stormed out of his room.
• He sat on the edge of the bed, his face a mix of confusion and remorse, still stinging from the slap Amelia had delivered moments ago. I had never seen him so subdued before. In the past, he would have exploded in anger, but now he just sat there in silence, lost in his thoughts.
