• As I stood on the balcony of my bedroom, my eyes scanned the courtyard below. In the distance, I could see Hunter rallying his soldiers. His gaze was fixed on a map laid out before him, and his voice carried authority as he spoke of the mission to find Amelia. I knew I couldn’t let him succeed in this endeavor, not if I wanted Amelia dead.
• I knew if Hunter found Amelia, there would be nothing I could do to her anymore. I could see in Hunter’s eyes how he felt for Amelia and his regret for treating her the way he'd done in the past, I knew if he found her, he would protect her this time, and I couldn’t let that happen.
