Chapter 6
- SIERRA
- I could start with the shutting sound the cameras made as I walked down the aisle with my uncle, Donald. I was wearing the brightest smile I could pull up knowing full well, the media, the guests, and the dignitaries that were solely focused on me. Some might have admired how flawless I looked in my backless long-sleeve v-neck gown but the majority were simply watching me just to find a flaw in me. When the news of my wedding first got out, the pressure and backlash I had gotten from the upper class and his girl fans were enough to make me fold but here I was in the famous and huge St. Dominic catholic church. I counted my steps in my head as it was the only way to keep me sane from the pressure I was currently feeling and with each step, it dawned on me I was nearing the prize of so many women standing on the altar, Shane Inglis. He has always looked dashing in suits but today was the first time I was seeing him in a white and black suit and dazzling would be an understatement to his dashing figure. The only thing missing from him was a smile, he couldn’t even look at his about-to-be wife. It was as if he wanted nothing but to disappear from here. It was the same expression he had worn back then at his family dinner. My teeth gritted for a split second, he could at least pretend he was enjoying the ceremony.
- The moment I got to the altar, I was immediately welcomed by his alluring cologne and striking blue eyes that entrapped me. He looked away quickly and focused on the priest who did the talking that I could care less about. Couldn’t he at least smile? Or at least acknowledge that I looked so good. It was all fake anyway. He was getting married to save himself from getting kicked out of the family and I was doing the same so he could defend and win my case.
