Chapter 6
- I stared at her.
- The expression on her face changed from impassiveness to that of shock. It seemed she had finally registered who I was, and I was here to make her life a living hell. That made me feel so good.
- She mustn’t feel less hurt than what I was feeling now. I wouldn’t let that happen. Whatever I was feeling, she was going to feel it even worse than I did.
- Subconsciously, I licked my lips. Looking at the human was driving me insane, and I wanted to stare at her till I couldn’t think of anything else. She was so desirable.
- What the fuck was I thinking?
- I glared at her. “What do you want here, human?”
- She said nothing.
- I frowned slightly. I hated it so much when I was ignored. I was the Alpha, and no-one had ever ignored me when I asked them a question. I almost slammed my hand on the cell rod, but I remembered it was laced with iron, and then controlled my impulse.
- “I believe you can heat me perfectly, human. Why are you here? And, what do you want from our people?” I snapped.
- She simply stared harder at me like I was something cut out from dirt. I could feel my temper rising like a storm. I hated this sort of crap so much. This woman was relentless in making me miserable, and I just couldn’t take the nonsense she was doing. It annoyed me so much.
- “Answer my question!” I said lowly.
- She mumbled something under her breath. And then, she lowered her head to the ground, and starting drawing on it. I felt like she had kicked me in my manhood. I have never felt so frustrated in my whole life.
- I closed my eyes slightly, and when I opened them, my eyes changed from dull blue to a dark blue shade. It was the colour of my wolf eyes.
- “I said, why are you here?” I demanded fiercely.
- She fell to her butt in fright, and then scrambled to her feet. She kept shaking as she stepped closer to the cell rods.
- “I only know one thing. I need to be let out of this place. I have never done anything wrong. I can’t even think of doing something wrong. You are mistaken about me. I’m not whatever you imagine me to be. I have never knowingly looked for trouble, or crave it. I was just moving around, and I stumbled here. I find you so strange, and it’s scary that I’m talking with you. I have no idea if I’m dreaming or not. I don’t even understand anything anymore. And…”
- “Shut up!” I snapped, stopping her flow of words.
- She blinked. I couldn’t help, but watch as her body shook. She was obviously scared, and I was pleased about that. If she had been sent to destroy my pack. She would need to feel fear. It must shake her from the core of her.
- “These nonsense you’re saying is not the answer to my question. You claimed last night that you were a researcher. I hope you didn’t forget the core things that it entails, or are you so dumb that you’ve forgotten all that in a twinkle of an eye. I hope you respond to my question like a normal human you obviously are. Why are you here?” I said easily.
- She started laughing, which took me off balance. Her body shook as she laughed, and then, a leak of tear escaped her eyes which dabbed away furiously.
- Her brown eyes stared at me. “I want just want to leave this place. I don’t want to have anything to do with you. I want to leave here alive. That is all I want. I don’t want anything more. Do you understand what I’m trying to say, Mr Alpha. I don’t want you to bother your hard head about me, just let me go to where I came from. Ok?” She rambled.
- I gritted my teeth, sick and tired of her nonsense. Despite the iron, I couldn’t stop myself from moving closer to her, and pulling her by the arm. My fingers sunk into her arm, obviously bruising her up. She whimpered, and shrieked in fear. The iron tore into my arm, and it was equally as painful, but I ignored it.
- “Please, let me go, Mr Alpha. I have done nothing wrong. I have done nothing to deserve all these. I’m a peaceful young woman,” she cried.
- I smirked. “That’s nice.” I tightened my hand on her arm. “If you claim to be peaceful, I will advice you to answer my questions, and stop your drama. I will be leaving soon, but when I come back, I would need answers to those questions, or things might be so difficult for you, and you would wish you were dead.”
- She shook in my eyes, as tears rolled from her eyes while biting her lips. I released her hands, and I felt a cold hand of guilt pull me to itself. I shook the feeling as fast as I had felt it.
- I can’t grow weak. This human can’t afford to harm me. I won’t tolerate that at all.
- She held herself as she cried. My eyes slid down her shape. I noted that she was indeed a beautiful woman. Her nose and lip piercings were so beautiful, and her hair a mixture of gold, brown and black was…
- I pulled her once to me, and her hands went wild. I could smell the fear that pulled from the depth of her. She was scared of me. It was so pleasing to see. I looked down at her lips which was drawing me in to kiss it. I imagined nibbling at her piercings, as she moaned underneath me.
- I blinked in shock, and pushed her through the barrier. She fell like a pack of potatoes, her hands immediately bruised. I didn’t wait to hear her whimpering.
- I was so annoyed at the emotion that I was feeling for her. The damn bond was making it so difficult to think straight. I can’t accept that woman as my mate.
- She was dangerous…
- I stepped out, and saw the guards gossiping among themselves. When they noted my presence, they stopped immediately. They bowed their heads down, saying my name.
- “Make sure she doesn’t escape. She is a dangerous little thing. You need to keep an eye on her. You need to alert me in case she tries anything funny. Take immediate measures where necessary. Humans are not to be handled with leniency,” I said darkly.
- They bowed. “As the Alpha wishes,” they said in respect.
- I grunted and walked out of the dungeon, and into the morning air. I swiped the sweat on my face. I was still feeling a teensy guilt which I was trying in vain to bring down.
- The human will not guilt trip me. I didn’t got to the pack house, instead I walked over to the river which was located at the south of the pack. I kicked pebbles as I went.
- My wolf was itching to shift, but I subdued it. I walked quickly to the river. In minutes, I was there. As usual, there was barely anyone at this part of the pack, and I was grateful about that. I needed as little company as possible. I pulled off my slippers, and dug my leg into he soil. This place always made me feel safe, and like I could try again once more.
- My fingers caressed the sand. I had wiped out all of the human population that had been our neighbours when the shield had not been in place, then how had one of them found her way into my pack.
- It was not normal that anyone would break the shield. Ugh! My manhood seemed to rise at the thought of the human. How long was this going to continue?
- I tossed the handful of sand into the water. I was so angry. Out of my mind’s eye, I remembered what it felt like holding her through the cage, and almost kissing her. It was so crazy.
- I pulled at my man-bun. This wasn’t right at all. I shouldn’t have such thoughts for a human. It was a cruel trick that I had to mate with a human when I despised them.
- “Moon goddess. I won’t do this. I can’t be with Leonie no matter what. For the first time I would have to disrespect you. I can’t take this anymore. I can’t like what I hate. It’s not in me. Did you see how she was rambling? She is half mad. She is an anomaly in our world. No, I won’t be able to bear this torture,” he said softly.
- He could see one of the fishes pull out of the water, only to go back in. He sighed.
- ‘Gunnolf,’ his wolf called out from the inner part of him. ‘Why didn’t you reject her if you hate her so much?’
