Chapter 5

  • Luciano stared at the file he held in his hand, willing himself not to get mad but the more he looked, the harder it was for him not to get mad.
  • “Danielle? What the fuck is this?”
  • He yelled at his current assistant.
  • “Sir? My name is Nuelle, not Danielle,”
  • Luciano looked at her. She could have answered his question but her main concern was that he got her name wrong and not what she did wrong. How did he end up only getting incompetent assistants?
  • “I don’t think your name should be what you are worried about right now, is this what I asked you to do?”
  • Luciano let out and threw her a look. She looked confused again and the director she worked for who sent her to him swore she was good, yeah. He obviously didn’t know what he was saying because she has messed up more times than he can count already and she has only been with him for two short days.
  • “I am sorry sir, if you will just relay what you wanted me to do again, I am sure I can fix it,”
  • Yeah right, that was the same thing she said yesterday and today look at the mess she made again. He was tired of her and couldn’t stand her anymore. He had new people coming in that he would be interviewing, hopefully, he would find someone who he can work with so that he can forget that bitch.
  • “No, there is no need for that, I will do it myself, just schedule the interview for the new assistant position, and by tomorrow, go back to working for your original boss,”
  • He told her in a dismissive voice. He didn’t want to be mad at her but if she doesn’t leave soon, he might be. Running this company use to be one of the easiest things for him but in the past two weeks, there have been a lot of downs, starting from when that crazy bitch ditched him and he had been stuck with her cos who made him lose money, nothing worked since she left and he hated her for it.
  • “Sir, I am sure there is a way to fix things, I am sorry for the mistakes I made,”
  • Nuelle said. He ignored her. He had to because he didn’t want to say the words that were forming in his head as she might leave here crying. Nothing was working, everything was all wrong and he had one person to blame for everything, if only that woman hadn’t been so stubborn then he wouldn’t be going through hell right now, it has only been a week since she left and he has lost three deals not including the one that made him fire her. Maybe he went too far firing her after all because no one has been able to do anything right since she left. In anger, he sent all the secretaries that work with him to other departments. He wanted to fire them all but figured it is not their fault so he sent them away for his and their peace's sake and then Christian sent Nuelle saying she was good at what she does. She was horrible. Danielle could do better.
  • “I told you to leave,”
  • He yelled at her and she hurriedly left. It was her fault that she got shouted at again because if she had just left when he told her to then he would not have shouted at her.
  • “Fucking hell,”
  • He let out in frustration. He couldn’t believe one woman leaving his company was enough to make him lose so much. One small clumsy but sassy woman who has been his one constant over the past five years. He never put too much importance on people but for Dani? He made sure to accommodate her as much as he could. He wasn’t the nicest to her, that he could admit but he paid her well and made sure she gets loads of tips for all the work she does. she just had to go mess things up by staying away for one whole week when he had told her not to. Yes, he had been angry when he had fired her but he wasn’t going to admit that he regrets it now. Not when he can always find a new replacement. Someone way better than her and who would not complain. People were coming in today for an interview, he was sure he would find a good replacement for her.
  • “Danielle! In my office right now!”
  • Luciano yelled. Only when he dropped the call did he remember that Dani no longer worked for him. He couldn’t get her name out of his mouth and it has been two weeks and five new secretaries later. How wrong he had been when he thought he could find a better replacement. He hated her so much for what she did to him. What he hated more than her was that he couldn’t for the life of his find a good replacement for her. No one comes close to her, and no one could even match half of her energy, he wasn’t one to regret his decisions but after going through multiple new secretaries both male and female, he started to regret firing her. There were other ways he could have punished her but firing her should not have been one of them.
  • For the first time in years, he just wanted to go home early, take a bath and close his eyes to sleep, that’s how stressed out he was. The last time he felt this exhausted was when his ex-best friend had betrayed him and almost led the company to bankruptcy, Dani had been with him then, and even though she had been Peter’s secretary before he chased him away, she had become his assistant when he noticed how she was able to do things efficiently. Luciano had fired nearly everyone that worked with Peter but Dani had been too much of an asset to let go. Now why did he think it was right to fire her just because of Carson’s project which was mainly his fault too, now he lost even more deals.
