Chapter 12

• “Fuck! I am so tired!”
• Dani let out as she stretched herself. She had been working on her laptop for the past three hours even though work ended an hour ago, she didn’t want to leave what she was doing to the next day as they had a busy day ahead and Luciano wanted her to be done with it by the end of the week. She didn’t want to disappoint him and get on his bad book again. She covered her face with both hands and sighed deeply into her palm. She was beyond exhausted but she couldn’t leave until she was done. The past week has been hectic for her but she didn’t complain because she was just glad to be back working which means all her plans were once again going accordingly. Plus, Luciano added to what he already paid her for last month. He said it was a bonus for what had happened. It was shocking for her but she needed the money so she thanked him and thought of the money each time he did something that pissed her off. To be fair, he has been a lot better to work with over the past week than he had been five and three years ago. She hoped the switch-up would last until she turned in her resignation letter.
• The only thing that hadn't changed was overtime. Here she was still working when every other secretary had left for the day. Luciano left earlier, probably to go see his latest lover who hasn’t been photographed with him just yet. The media and paparazzi were all on alert because they hadn’t seen Luciano with a new love interest for about two months now and they were sure he was hiding someone. She knew all this because she was approached by a reporter two days ago. She told them she knew nothing about it. It was the truth, the only way she knew about his love interest was when they appeared on the front page of the magazine or whatever, if not, she never knew. She was thankful that he didn’t mix business with pleasure because she would have hated to be subjected to having his love interest around or doing things like sending presents and flowers. One of her coworkers talked about her former boss who made her do everything including call the women and tell them it was over when the boss was done with them. Dani hated the thought of doing something like that.
