Chapter 55

• “Kyra,” Anton called before he rushed over to where she was huddled on the floor. He wanted to wrap his arms around and pull her out so he could hug her close and know that she was finally safe, but he hesitated.
• She was staring straight ahead and when he placed himself in her line of focus, it looked as if she was not seeing him. She was staring through him while rocking and muttering words he could not hear.
• “Kyra?” He slowly kneeled in front of her and he waved his hand in front of her face, but no reaction came from her.
