Chapter 1

  • “Hey, what are you thinking about?” Tristan asked, gently bopping her nose.
  • Kyra smiled up at him. “I’m thinking about our future together, Tristan. Soon I will be your Luna, and you won’t have to always sneak into my room to see me.”
  • A dark glint of mockery flashed in Tristan’s eyes, but Kyra was too lost in her dreams to notice it.
  • “Of course, very soon we will be the most powerful couple in the werewolf world,” Tristan said, his words dripping with sarcasm.
  • “Yes, we...” Kyra started, but her words were cut off by a loud bang. Someone kicked the door open, and it split with a thunderous crash. She turned to see her father, Ezekiel, and his men standing at the door. Ezekiel's face was twisted with fury as he took in the scene.
  • “What is going on here?” Ezekiel demanded, taking a menacing step into the room.
  • “Dad?” Kyra called, her voice shaky with fear. How had her father found out? He never came to her room unless he needed her, often ignoring her existence.
  • “I asked you a question! What is going on here?” Ezekiel roared when Kyra didn’t answer immediately.
  • “Dad, I...” Kyra stammered, but Ezekiel cut her off.
  • “What is he doing inside your room, you stupid girl?” Ezekiel asked, pointing at Tristan, who stood behind Kyra without an ounce of fear. His eyes held a mocking challenge.
  • Kyra looked back at Tristan, then turned to face her father again. She was confused and terrified. If her father attacked, Tristan would be defenseless. He always came alone to avoid detection.
  • Kyra stepped in front of Tristan, using her small body to block him from her father’s view. “Dad, please don’t hurt him,” she pleaded, tears welling up in her eyes.
  • “Hurt him?” Ezekiel yelled, exasperated. “I was alerted of a stranger jumping into your room. I thought you were in danger and rushed here, only to find you invited our enemy! You’re even begging for him?”
  • Ezekiel’s eyes burned with rage and confusion. He could not believe his daughter would consort with their enemy.
  • Kyra felt a flicker of warmth at her father’s concern, but she knew the truth would change everything. “Dad, please. He is my mate. I can’t allow you to hurt him.”
  • “He is your what?” Ezekiel bellowed, his fury escalating. “This bastard is your mate?”
  • Kyra nodded, her voice trembling. “Yes, Dad. He is my mate, and I’m pregnant with his child.”
  • Silence fell over the room as everyone absorbed her words. Tristan’s smirk grew more pronounced.
  • “Did you just say you’re pregnant with my child?” Tristan asked, stepping forward with a cold smile.
  • Kyra turned to him, her face lighting up with hope. “Yes, Tristan. We’re going to have a baby.”
  • Tristan’s laughter was harsh and mocking. “You think you’re worthy to bear my heir? You’re nothing but a tool, Kyra. A means to an end.”
  • Kyra’s world shattered. “No, you can’t mean that.”
  • Tristan’s eyes gleamed with malice. “Your father is my enemy. Did you really think I’d forget that because the moon goddess paired us together? You’re a fool, Kyra.”
  • Ezekiel’s rage boiled over. “Seize him!” he ordered his guards.
  • Tristan raised a hand, and a loud whistle pierced the air. Armed men burst into the room through the window, weapons drawn.
  • Tristan’s voice was filled with venom as he declared, “Ezekiel, your reign ends today. I declare war on you and your pack. No more hiding, no more sneaking around. This is your end.”
  • Ezekiel’s face contorted with shock and anger. “You dare bring war into my home?”
  • Tristan’s men clashed with Ezekiel’s guards, the room erupting into chaos. The sound of clashing steel and snarling wolves filled the air. Tristan moved with savage precision, cutting down anyone who stood in his way.
  • Amid the fighting, Tristan grabbed Kyra, his grip bruising. “Stay here,” he ordered, pushing her to the ground. “Watch as I destroy everything you love.”
  • With a swift, fluid motion, Tristan advanced on Ezekiel, who was locked in combat with one of Tristan's guards. Ezekiel fought valiantly, his strength and experience evident in every move. But he was outnumbered, and Tristan’s men were relentless.
  • “Kill him,” Tristan ordered, his voice cold and merciless.
  • The guards overpowered Ezekiel, forcing him to his knees. Kyra screamed as she watched one of the guards unsheathe a dagger and plunge it into her father’s heart. Ezekiel's body convulsed, and then he fell still.
  • “No!” Kyra screamed, tears streaming down her face as she struggled against Tristan's grip.
  • But Tristan wasn’t done. He approached Ezekiel's lifeless body, drawing his sword. He looked at Kyra, his eyes filled with cold satisfaction. “This is your punishment, Kyra. This is the price of your father’s sins.”
  • With a swift, brutal stroke, Tristan severed Ezekiel's head. Blood sprayed across the room, and Tristan picked up the head by the hair, holding it aloft. He turned to Kyra, who was now sobbing uncontrollably, her world crumbling around her.
  • Tristan threw her father's head at her feet, the severed head landing with a sickening thud. “Bitch! Thank you for your help with my victorious revenge!” he sneered, his voice echoing with finality. “Your pack is mine. You and your unborn child will be auctioned off to the highest bidder.”
  • Kyra collapsed to the ground, cradling her belly as she wept. Her world had crumbled, and there was no escaping the nightmare that had become her reality.
  • Tristan leaned down, his breath hot against her ear. “And just when you think it can’t get any worse,” he whispered, “wait until you see who the highest bidder is.”
  • Kyra’s heart froze with a new wave of terror washing over her as Tristan's sinister smile burned into her memory.
  • Who would still want me after finding out that I was pregnant?
  • Who could possibly be worse than him?
