Chapter 19

• “Alpha Anton, please slow down.” Kyra cried as she ran behind Anton trying to keep pace with him, but he kept walking fast like he could not hear her complaints. He continued to drag her alongside him. “Please, I’m going to fall down. My legs are hurting.”
• Kyra’s eyes filled with tears of pain. She’s never liked wearing heels because she could never find her balance with them, and they hurt her legs. She did it tonight because she needed to appear well and not disgrace him. If Alpha Anton keeps dragging her like this, she might return to his pack with a sprained ankle.
• Kyra knew that he was angry, but she felt like his anger was mostly directed at something or someone else apart from her.
