Chapter 204 Brats
- Would I look at Chance differently if he was a wolf? He let out a breath as I pressed the pointy end right below his shoulder. It wasn’t from pain, was it relief? Why would he be relieved? I pushed my weight onto the heel currently pressed into his oh-too-clean white dress shirt, but he didn’t move. This isn’t what I was thinking when I came to his room, but here we both were. Warm hands slid up my calf and stopped around my knee.
- A shiver ran up my spine and I took a deep breath as my legs trembled. Misunderstanding my pleasure for shakiness, his hand disappeared from my knee and I peered down my nose at him as he lifted his hand above his head. He was offering to help me steady myself while I hurt him. I took in the gesture and slapped his hand away. I wasn’t like this with anyone else, but with Chance, I could be real, and as much as I hated it, raw. Maybe that fact alone made him special.
- I swallowed, ran my tongue over my bottom lip, and waited for a sign. He could tap out, tell me he didn’t do anything to warrant my anger, or tell me he didn’t want this punishment, but that was the thing about Chance. He’d never deny me. He was always here, always present. There was nothing I could do to make him desert me. He wanted me, whatever he could get from me. Chance would take anything I had to give and with his tendency to submit to me, he wouldn’t tell me no. It sent a thrill through me.
