Chapter 54

• In the wet market, Peri was looking to buy meat and fish after work. There were some people coming and going, passing by the meat and fish stalls. She stopped in front of one of the fish stalls, making sure that the fish had no red eyes, especially when it was already late afternoon. The fish were not fresh anymore, but they were frozen. Those displayed weren’t, however.
• “Could you give me a kilo of that please?” she asked the lady vendor.
• “Sure, dear,” the woman answered with a wide smile. She put some round scad fish on the hanging scale.
