• Peri stopped by the door, right outside Suite 609. From there, she could faintly hear that Asher was talking with someone inside. And it was a woman. Her hand that was about to knock on the door froze. She didn’t mean to eavesdrop, but she couldn’t help it. If she hadn’t received a call from her grandmother, telling her that Asher was beaten by her father, she wouldn’t be here to check up on him. Just that, he wasn’t alone.
• “Believe me, Asher. I was miserable without you! If our son didn’t drown and died, we would still have been happy together, right?” the woman said.
