Chapter 27

• Peri wasn’t surprised anymore when Asher’s car halted in front of her. She was about to wait for public transportation to go home after class. Without getting out of the car, he pushed the passenger door open for her. She sighed and hopped in.
• “Shouldn’t I ask why you’re here to pick me up again?” she said.
• He turned to her and leaned closer. She moved her head back to avoid his face, but their gazes held. He pulled the seatbelt and put it on for her. Because of it, his scent enveloped her entire being, making her throat dry and her heart beating furiously inside her chest. She gulped discreetly.
