Chapter 29

• Asher groaned when he reached his suite and closed the door behind him. He massaged his temples and breathed in deep and exhaled it. He thought it was the longest drive he’d ever had with Peri in his car. He thought it would’ve ended differently than he had imagined when he learned about her feelings for him. Thankfully, he was thinking rationally. No, not thankfully, really. There was nothing to be grateful for. And he wasn’t even so rational as usual. Nonetheless, he was able to hold himself back.
• When she said “No, that was hot!”, he snorted. He was on the verge of U-turning to take her to his suite. But yes, he was being a gentleman. He, of course, saw to it that she reached her door home, safe from him. With Peri, he knew he wouldn’t go fast. He had to take it—or her—slow.
• He took a cold shower to lower his body heat. He thought he was going to burst when he touched her breasts. He could barely restrain himself.
