Chapter 10

• Peri had no particular memory about Asher being friends with her father. Perhaps it was because their house was gone by fire when she was ten. Thus, pictures and all their belongings were burned, including her poor mother. It was the most devastating thing that happened in their life, aside from her blinded father a couple years ago.
• “Oh, I’m the jerk? Aren’t you the one, Patricio? You knew how to contact me, but you never did. I couldn’t reach you, and you changed your address when I came back, so I wasn’t able to find you until yesterday!” Asher grumbled.
• “Well, things happened, so you can’t blame me for that,” Patricio defended himself.
