• Victoria had just gotten up, preparing to leave Logan with all the emotional scars she carried, when her cell phone vibrated. Chris's name appeared on the screen, making her catch her breath.
• “Chris?” Her voice trembled as she answered the call.
• “Victoria, you have to get here right away,” Chris' voice sounded urgent. ‘Abigail's condition is worsening. We have to do a spinal cord transplant as soon as possible. We need a donor immediately.”
