• Victoria watched Logan from a distance, her mind struggling with persistent worry. She still remembered how Logan had been forced to swallow the medicine under Grace's control. The situation in this house was full of intrigue, and she knew that one step in the wrong direction could spell disaster.
• “Is he going to be okay?” she wondered, guilt creeping in between her worries. Since the beginning of this deal, she had made sure Logan looked like he was obeying every rule Grace had set. However, Victoria never knew who was truly loyal to Grace in this house. It kept her on her toes.
• The sound of approaching steps made Victoria flinch. She turned around, her eyes meeting James who had appeared from the darkness of the garden.
