• That morning, the sun shone warmly, illuminating the therapy room downstairs. Victoria stood in the corner of the room, watching Logan practice his little steps. The cane he used was starting to touch the floor less and less. He walked slowly, his leg muscles working hard to support his body.
• “Good, Mr. Logan,” Victoria said in a soft voice. ‘Try stepping your right foot a little further. Yes, like that.”
• Logan nodded without looking back, his focus entirely on the movement he was making. His breathing sounded labored, but there was no sign of giving up on his face.
