• Snow fell heavily on a cloudy, grey afternoon as Dani looked out the window.
• Despite a thick wool sweater and the heater in this room, winter in Russia was as cold as it could get. One would think being here around the same time last year would help her get used to it somehow—just like being in and out of hospitals for months—but it never got any easier.
