Chapter 15

• Maksim shook the snow off his body before slumping near her by the fireplace. Alexei closed the door and removed his hood. His usually slicked up, dark brown hair was now a little mussed as he headed towards her direction.
• She crawled away from him as far as her weak arms would let her. He stopped near her feet and crouched next to the chair where her clothes were hung to dry. He tossed a log into the fire.
• He stared into the fire for a considerable while, not saying a single word. Shadows danced on the sharp planes of his face, accentuating his high cheekbones and firm jaw. Perhaps it was just the effect, but he looked quite pissed from where she sat. She didn’t waste the chance to speak up.
