Chapter 55 James
- I was hoping that we won’t get to see each other again but it seems like we will be seeing each other soon. I had tendered my resignation letter but Mr Mcauley wanted me to stay till the end of the month and I have just one week left. On the day I submitted my resignation letter, I was willing to stop working for her father that very day so I wouldn’t have anything tying me to her or any reason for us to have to meet. As much as I don’t want to see her, I want to. I want to know how she’s doing and just want to see her doing better and feeling better. I’m actually looking forward to seeing her and I’m proud that she gets to work in her father’s company now and she is slowly becoming the woman she wants to be.
- I run my hand through my hair and take one last glance at the mirror, I know she’s going to be looking her best today since it’s an important day for her and for some reason I wanted to look extra good.
- I get to Mr Mcauley’s place and he can’t stop beaming in pride and how he has always waited for this day and how proud he is of his daughter and the success of his plans in helping her become independent. Although he seemed sad that they aren’t living in the same house and still aren’t really like they were, he is proud of her for choosing to be independent and I am too. He told me about how she didn’t even stay in the house the first day she arrived and just packed her things and moved out. I knew she was going to do that eventually but not that soon. I’m looking forward to seeing her and I wish I could tell her how proud I am of the woman she is becoming and encourage her every step of the way but I doubt she even wants to hear me speak or listen to anything I have to say and I don’t think I have the mind too knowing that she will ignore me or say something hurtful.
