Chapter 37 Jamila

• I'm currently at work with my friend Annie and we have become quite close now, but most of the time, I feel like she is not who she claims to be and I know there is more to it than what meets the eye. Ever since I met her, I knew that she is not just some random girl and a lot of things have confirmed it. I feel like she is hiding something, but I don't know what or why. No random girl can own that many clothes, all of them being designers. I even saw a custom-made gown with her name on it and I have decided to at least google her just to be on the safe side. She doesn't strike me as a thief. If not, my first thought would have been that she stole all the clothes and other expensive things and is on the run and that's how she ended up in Zuzuski just to hide out here, but I know that can't be the reason so I try to think of something else. Or maybe she is running away from someone that is after her life, or maybe even running away from a wicked lover and has now found love with James, or she ran away from home because of overbearing parents or an abusive partner, the possibilities are endless.
• “I'm so glad that Laura agreed to slash my work hours, now I can spend more time with James.” Annie excitedly says.
• “I'm happy for you, you have a lot of time now to enjoy your man.” I tease and she blushes.
