Chapter 47 James

• As soon as Annie walked out the door I just collapse on the couch with an angry shout. What on earth did I just get myself into? Never did I imagine that Annie will find out most especially like this. I should have put my relationship with her first over the one I have for her father. The loyalty I have for her father in the end ruined what we had going on. I also couldn’t just spill a secret that isn’t mine to spill and what I could have done was to tell her father to come clean with her and that’s what I did by telling him about how greatly she had changed from the person she was in Houston. I don’t know how I got dragged into this and now it feels like I’m in between and I know for sure that she isn’t going to pick me, not after the things she just said to me.
• I wanted to go after her when she left but I knew it wouldn’t change anything. It wouldn’t change the fact that I knew of her father’s plan and hid it from her and all these wouldn’t have been a problem if I didn’t fall in love with her . I wasn’t supposed to fall in love with the boss’s daughter but I did and now look where it has got me. If I hadn’t fallen in love with her, it won’t really matter to her that I knew about it and hid it from her and I wouldn’t feel the way I’m feeling right now. I don’t regret falling in love with her though, the only thing I regret is that I wasn’t completely honest with her and when the foundation is faulty the house is bound to collapse. I did see it coming but I chose to be comfortable and not bother about it.
• I wonder how she found out anyway, Could it be that she was snooping through my belongings because I hid the card in one of my jean pockets? Did she not trust me well enough? Or could it be that I was careless with my phone? I haven't received any message from her dad in recent times. Could it be that she got a hint from the notification that came in the other day? When we got to the resort, I went through my phone to know what the notification beep was for but there was absolutely nothing. No emails, no messages which was a little bit strange. She must have seen something and deleted it because there is no way a notification beep will sound and you wouldn't see any information attached to the notification.
