Chapter 2 The Mate Proposal

• I arrived back home and managed to sneak in without anyone noticing. I walked into my room and slumped onto my bed. I had succeeded in stopping my tears from escaping, but I could not get rid of the sadness in my heart, the bitter feeling that consumed me.
• What Ronald did to me had broken me completely. An hour ago, that man was my whole world. I was blindly in love with him and if someone told me that he would hurt me this much, I would have never believed.
• I thought we were mates, even though my wolf was not yet awakened and I didn’t feel the mate pull, I still thought it was him, because of his words and the way he treated me, how could he do this to me?
• After the heartbreak I experienced today, I don’t think I would ever fall in love again; men are such selfish beings, who only care about themselves.
• I was still lost in thoughts when the door swung open and Mom walked in. I sat up immediately and pretended like everything was alright. I don’t want mom or any other person to find out about what happened between me and Ronald.
• “Hey mom,” I said and forced a smile.
• “Princess Monica, were you crying?” mom asked, and furrowed her eyebrows in scrutiny.
• “Oh, not really mom, something got into my eyes and it got wet while I was trying to remove the particle, but I am fine now,” I lied.
• I can’t believe how quickly I came up with that lie, it was like I had practiced it beforehand.
• She gave me a suspicious look and hummed. “Alright, if you are sure that you are fine. Anyway, your dad sent me here to give you information.”
• I stood upright immediately, “information? What information mom? Is everything alright?” I queried.
• “Um kind of, the thing is that Alpha Damon of the Bleeding Moon Pack has come here, seeking to be your mate,” Mom announced.
• My jaws dropped in surprise. “What? That is a joke right? I dislike the mention of the name Bleeding Moon, to talk more of its inhabitants and their Alpha dared to come here with a mate proposal, how dare he?” I yelled.
• “I know, your dad was about to reject his proposal but we thought we should check with you first,” Mom replied.
• “It is a big No mom, I would rather die than get mated to that animal,” I spat in anger.
• “Alright, calm down, I would go down and inform them immediately.”
• “No Mom, I will do that myself,” I replied and headed out of the room.
• I couldn’t believe his audacity to step his foot into this Pack. Their pack is filled with the worst kind of heartless and evil beings, they had abducted most of our young men in the past, that was what caused the enmity between the two packs, and here today he has come to marry me.
• I stormed downstairs and into the sitting room, Dad was there with a stranger who I guessed to be the so-called Alpha of the Bleeding Moon Pack. I heard he was adopted but that changes nothing, as long as he is from that pack, I want nothing to do with him.
• “Princess Monica, you are here,” Dad said and smiled, mum was right behind me.
• “Your Majesty, if you don’t mind, I would like to talk to Alpha Damon alone,” I requested.
• Dad looked at me and I gave him a reassuring smile that everything was fine. I stared at the young man with disgust and hatred in my heart. I was still upset and heartbroken with Ronald’s actions, and here now this fool had come to irritate me the more with his stupid proposal.
• “Alright Princess,” Dad replied and stood up. He shared a glance with mom and then, they both walked off.
• Alpha Damon or whatever he called himself stood up and walked to me, “Princess Monica,” he called with a small smile.
• “Don’t you dare mention my name, were you drunk or did you come to the wrong Address? Don’t you realize that this is Dazam, the very same tribe that your people abducted men and did other terrible things to?” I yelled.
• “That was years ago, and I was not involved, it was my step parents,” he replied.
• “Well the sin of the parents would be visited on the son, I don’t care which one of you it was, but I do not want goddamn members of the Bleeding Moon Pack stepping their damn feet into my kingdom, you shall bear the punishment for the sins of your fathers along with every other member of your pack,” I fired.
• “So you are rejecting my Mate proposal, right?” he queried.
• “Perhaps you are drunk, of course I want nothing to do with you or your Pack, I won't be surprised if you people are scheming something horrible again, you only know how to take what does not belong to you and maybe now you have your eyes on the throne. Of course, that is the reason why you want to be my mate right?” I queried in an angry tone.
• “If you don’t want to be my mate, you could have said that politely, rather than insult me,” he replied.
• “Hey! You are not in the Bleeding Moon Pack, I would suggest you keep your voice down, don’t dare to raise your voice here. In case it is not yet clear to you, I would rather die than be your mate, so please get yourself out of this castle, and out of this Pack too, don’t ever show up here again or I would have the guards throw you out!” I yelled.
• I was very angry, and the incident with Ronald fuelled my anger even more. Right now, I was not thinking about my words, all I wanted was to unleash my anger on this fool who thinks he can show up here and request to be my mate.
• “Alright Princess, I will take my leave but I promise, you would regret making this decision,” he said in a cold voice and I scoffed.
• “Just get yourself out of here, or I will throw you out!” I yelled.
• He smiled at me and turned towards the door, and then he walked off. I felt like stabbing him right in the back of his chest, I had not been this angry in a long time.
• Could today ever get worse? First, I caught the man I loved with all my heart cheating on me with another woman, and then he broke up with me and this fool shows up with a proposal.
• “Arrghhh!” I groaned and headed up to my room, stomping my foot on the stairs as I went up.
