Chapter 1 Heartbroken Monica

• I finally succeeded in sneaking out of the castle; I was heading to my boyfriend’s house. I was excited as I had finally turned eighteen yesterday, any moment from now, my wolf would be awakened and I can finally be mated to Roland. I can’t wait to feel the mate pull, the electrifying sparks that accompany the touch of a mate, that one feeling that every female wolf craves for.
• I arrived at Roland’s house and walked in without knocking, it was in a neighboring Pack to ours and Roland was their Alpha, it was not much of a large Pack compared to ours.
• I am the daughter of the Alpha king of Dazam kingdom, one out of the ten most prominent kingdoms in our wolf territory.
• I had informed Roland earlier today that I would be coming over, so I guess he was expecting me. He always has a surprise for me, which made me curious on what he would do or give to me this time.
• Arriving at the bedroom door, I froze immediately with the sounds I heard coming from his room. No, my mind must be playing games with me, it cannot be possible.
• I pushed the door open and walked in only to see Roland half naked on the bed with a young lady, I felt my heart sink into my chest and my body froze cold. No, this is not happening!
• “Roland!” I screamed in disbelief.
• He looked in my direction and climbed down from the bed, his face was devoid of emotions.
• “What… What is going on here?” I stuttered in a trembling voice.
• “I am sorry you had to see this Monica, but we can no longer be together, this is my new girlfriend Lisa.”
• I thought I did not hear right, did he really say that? His new girlfriend? So he is breaking up with me?
• I went closer to him immediately and cupped his cheeks, “Roland, this is a prank right? Tell me this is just a joke,” I said, with tears pooling in my eyes, ready to overflow.
• He took my hands off his face, “I am sorry Monica, but this is no joke, I don’t want to be with you anymore, I have found someone else and you should do the same too,” Roland replied.
• “But why? What did I do wrong Roland, why did you do this to me?” I queried, as the tears started trickling down my cheeks slowly.
• “You have done nothing wrong Monica, I just don’t want to be with you anymore, please forgive me.”
• I darted my gaze from him to the half naked lady with him. I had no idea what was going on, everything was fine between us yesterday, he even attended my birthday a few days back, he was just as much in love with me as I was with him, so why is he suddenly with another woman.
• The thought of that pierced my heart, knowing that the man I loved was just intimate with another woman, and he was not even sorry about it, that shattered my heart completely.
• “Roland, I trusted you, I loved you with all my heart, why did you do this to me?” I cried and pushed him on the chest.
• The look on his face made me feel like he regrets doing what he did, but then why isn’t he apologizing? Why is he adding fuel to the fire by saying these words?
• “Monica, I already told you that I am sorry, you have to accept the fact that we are not meant to be together. I found someone who I love more and so I choose to be with her, you should just move on and forget about me.”
• “You think that is easy? Should I just move on? We have been together for months now, I was even hoping that we would be mates in the near future, and here you are with another woman!!” I yelled angrily, tears streaming down my eyes.
• He looked down, away from me, then he turned his back to me completely. “I don’t love you anymore Monica, please leave my house.”
• I couldn’t believe he said that, even though I knew he was lying. I held his shoulder and turned him back to face me.
• “You are lying Roland, we both love each other and you can’t hide your feelings from me, I don’t know why you are doing this but please stop.”
• “I mean it when I say I have no feelings for you!” He retorted.
• “Then prove it, look me in the eye and say you don’t love me, say that you really want us to break up.” I said.
• He remained quiet and looked downwards, I could see the pain in his eyes, but why was he doing this?
• I turned my attention to the lady. “It is you right? What did you do to him, you shameless woman?” I yelled out of frustration.
• “Stop it Monica, this has nothing to do with her,” Roland fired back.
• “Oh, I think it does, if not her then what is wrong with you? I am sure she must have done something to you, she must have seduced you to do this with her!!’
• “That is enough Monica, I already told you that she is my new girlfriend and I love her. Now I think you have overstayed your welcome, please leave my house!” Roland ordered.
• I was perplexed by his words and actions. “Roland, are you really sending me out of your house?’
• “Not just my house but my life, and don’t come back!” he said in a stern voice.
• I couldn’t stand any of that anymore, I turned around and ran off in tears. It felt like my whole life would end the next moment, this was the man of my dreams and I had just lost him to another woman. What did I ever do wrong?

• The door opened and a man in a black hood walked in, he had a short sword in his hand with its blade looking extremely sharp.
• “We did everything you asked us to, we got intimate in her presence and I broke up with her, please don’t hurt me or anyone in my pack now,” Roland pleaded and went down on his knees; the lady also kneeled with him.
• The man had a scary look on his face, he didn’t look happy at all. His fist clenched and his teeth gritted.
• “Why should I let you live?” He queried in a cold voice, “You have been in a relationship with my mate for months, you helped her cheat on me.”
• “I swear I had no idea that she was your mate, I beg of you please don’t kill me,” he begged.
• “I also had nothing to do with this and I did exactly what you asked me to do, so please spare my life,” the lady also begged for mercy.
• “No, neither of you deserve to be alive.” The man stated and drove the sword through Roland’s chest.
• The Alpha fell on the floor, bleeding to death while the lady screamed in panic. He went close to her and soon the room was filled with her scream as she took her last breath.
• The stranger walked out of the room and to the balcony, from where he could see Monica running away in tears, he looked at her with hostility and anger in his eyes, his desire to spill blood increased.
• He looked up to the sky and muttered to himself with spite in his tone, “Goddess of the moon, you have really made a joke of me. My mate is my enemy’s daughter and she has a boyfriend, she is not loyal to the mate bond and she had cheated on me. I must take revenge on this unchaste woman, take revenge on her cruel tribe for all they had taken from me.”
